We are are once again back in business! Our first meeting back in the club rooms is tonight! We had an enjoyable meeting 2 weeks ago at a members home where we all caught up with family news and holidays! We have much planned such as our Hole in One competition at Easter but it is unclear as yet how that might happen if at all, but we will be ready if it does!
Community meals will be back this week too.
We have had some new members join us, but we would love to see more. Do you have some ideas that would help our community - come and talk to us. Don't forget the Function centre is available for rent, too.
Yes! On Monday 16th November, we are meeting as a club in our rooms at Gateway Park for the 1st time this Rotary year. I feel this is a reason to celebrate! Please contact President Kaylyn if you are coming as we are still limited by numbers. There will be a Board meeting prior to the club meeting, and a take away meal will be coming in. The usual Covid-19 rules will apply.
We have been able to have our first formal meeting in our clubrooms! It is with the limitation of only 20 people, and PresidentKaylyn must be contacted to attend. We also are limited by the need for safety around our dinners. All precautions are being taken, to keep us all safe. Any changes will be posted here.  As we are currently 15(soon to be 16) members we do have room for more. So if you would like to see what we can do for you, such as opportunities to serve our community, here or farther afield , call Kaylyn!
As life changes day by day, Kangaroo Flat Rotary finds ourselves unable to continue to meet face to face, and unable to continue programs like the Community Meals. Our fundraising BBQs have stopped. Our Easter Hole in One competition will not be held either. We plan to stay in touch with each other as we will all miss the weekly meetings that has been part of our lives for many years. We will do what we can for our local community within the rules of social distancing.
After a week off for the long W/E, we will get back down to business with a guest speaker on Monday 16th and the planning continues for our annual Hole in One competition over Easter. Our fundraising BBQs continue. Our Community meals are a weekly event with good attendance generally. It is worth being on time to ensure a good feed.
Our President for this Rotary year,
Kaylyn Journeaux has thrown herself into the local Community and is now on the Kangaroo Flat Community House Committee. We will be working closer with this valuable community organisation.  We have recently done another Bunnings BBQ with the funds raised going towards our work with the Special Development School in Kangaroo Flat. Our Community Meals program continues on a Wednesday evening, working closely with The Kangaroo Flat Community Enterprise and Bendigo Bank volunteers.
Our Christmas Breakup is on Monday 16 at the Kangaroo Flat Sports Club, at 6 for 6:30. We return to regular club meetings on January 13, Venue TBA.
Please note there will be no Community Meal on Wednesday 25 December and Jan 1
On Monday evening at our Christmas Break up dinner we welcomed Matthew L as a new member!
Anyone interested in joining us should contact President Kaylyn.
Each Wednesday night at 5.30pm a team of volunteers arrive at the Rotary Function Center with meals for those in need. A joint community project with the Kangaroo Flat Community Enterprise (providing funds to purchase the meals), St John of God (providing the meals), Bendigo Bank & Bendigo Special Development School providing volunteers and Rotary providing the venue. A team effort.

If you know of families or people who need assistance please let them know we are here to help. Come along and enjoy a meal and companionship.
