REPORTS
PP Ian reported on his recent visit to Ascot Rotary Club. This club is doing very well with displays of Leggo constructions. They have made up to $30,000 from one event which attracted 7,000 people. They have also been able to create several trusts and use income from these to fund projects and other worthy causes. They recently provided $44,000 to Interplast. Phil advised of a local with vast Leggo resources which might make such a display possible for our fundraising efforts.
Ian also organised mowing of the green for the Hole in One
Service Chair Charlie reminded us that Rides for Kids have ride planned for 23 April. Need people to be cashiers and cook breakfast here and to assist at Newbridge cooking lunch. Bread needs to be collected from local IGA who are donating all the food for this event and we are very grateful for this support. Signs need to be placed and collected. There will also be Ghost Riders and raffle tickets are $2.00. Please let Charlie know if you can help on the day.
Bar/BBQ Manager Bob advised that recent bar function netted $265 and we now have bar restocked and Cider now available.
PP Judy circulated BBQ Roster list which has a lot of spaces to be filled so please help if you can.

PRESENTATION MAL AND MAGGIE BUTCHER- DORCAS THREADS FOR THAILAND
Maggie gave us a very informative presentation on their work in Thailand which spans over 15 years.
This covered feeding programs, programs for kids with Aids, kits for hospital carers. The system there requires that everyone in hospital needs a carer to cater for other than medical needs. They visit and work with kids in both North and south.
They also do a lot to get the release of children from slavery. Many children are sold by parents due to poverty and end up as sex slaves.
Foundation develops projects from needs observed. They are currently back here to raise funds and have enlisted sewers from female prisons to prepare carer kits. Also becoming involved with "Days for Girls" project. they have a DFG ambassador and will be distributing DFG kits throughout Thailand particularly to Hill Tribes, prisons, slum areas.
We were able to present Maggie with some carer bags which we purchased to assist the Cambodia School fund and thanked her and Mal for their efforts..
